A new fat loss system that looks a lot like a fitness regime has been developed by a team of British scientists.
They are the first to use wearable technology to help people lose weight.
BBC News looks at what they are trying to do and what they have to say about the research.
First author Professor Alan Walker from the University of Birmingham says the device is an attempt to make fat loss easier.
“This is not a ‘fat-loss machine’ at all.
We want to create a tool that can help people do more of the things they normally do,” he told BBC News.

“We use a combination … of physical exercise and a combination with cognitive exercises,” Professor Walker said.
“The idea is that we want to make the whole process much easier, because you need less time to make a fat loss change, and you need fewer cognitive steps.”
What is the technology?
The team created a device that looks just like a Fitbit.
The Fitbit Charge 2 is a wrist-worn device that can track and track calories burned.
It’s designed to track calories and exercise, and it can be used as a smartphone, and a computer as well.
Professor Walker said the device can be worn on the body, but not in the wrist, and that it’s not meant to be worn by people with obesity or diabetes.
“The idea was to have something that looks very similar to what a Fitbits look like, so it would be like a very small Fitbit,” he said.
“So you would be able, with the Fitbit, to see all the data that is being gathered and the data will be used to calculate your calories.”
What we were able to get is a very powerful device, so you can use it to get your calorie counting up and it will keep track of what your body looks like.
“The device can also be used in a range of ways.
It could be used for a diet.
Professor Walker explained that the device will tell you what the daily calorie expenditure is and it could help people understand what it’s like to be overweight.
It can also help people to control their appetite.”

The researchers wanted to understand how people respond to this type of exercise, but there is currently no way of actually getting data from them.
The devices have to be used over a period of time, and they are designed to be portable.
The researchers are now looking at using this technology to work out how to get more fat loss results.
“I think what we’re doing is trying to answer the question, ‘How do you get the best results from physical activity?'”
Professor Walker added.
“And I think what the results we have so far, I think, are going to be pretty promising, but I think we’re still in the early stages of looking at this.”
Are there health benefits?
There are some health benefits of this type.
Professor Paul Moyle from the School of Health Sciences at the University Of Leeds says the devices could have applications in the workplace and beyond.
“In terms of the workplace, it’s really about how we think about fitness,” he says.
“There’s a lot that goes into being fit.
You can wear it for six weeks, and so you get a sense of how you feel and how well you feel in relation to other people and the company.”
It’s a good way of understanding the way you are doing.
You’re trying not to lose your appetite, but maybe you’ve been working out a little too much.
“At the same time, you can still manage to lose some weight.
So you get your daily calorie count, which is good for the overall health of your heart, your muscle and the blood vessel.”
